Conspiracy, Receiving Stolen Property, Obstruction Of Justice, Aiding & Abetting Embezzlement, 14 counts plea bargained down to three guilt pleas of receiving stolen property, and less than one year in jail. McWilson was protected from investigation, by the lead Oceanside investigator Det. Mike Brown, for four months, in the hope that co-conspirator Aimee Rich would keep her mouth shut.
Co-Conspirator Girl Friend Turned States Evidence against Sgt. McWilson and McWilson got 1 year for Embezzling $150,000.
This was not McWilson’s first time in trouble with law enforcement. In 1993, following felony arrest, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge after being arrested for evading police, court records state. The charge was later expunged from his criminal record to allow his employment at the Oceanside Police Department, where he conspired for years to embezzle funds, and fence stolen property according to OPD reports.

Police Captain shoots his own son during a family dispute. Son later agrees to a plea bargain on assault with a deadly weapon and gets 1 year in jail. Many unanswered questions.
A felony assault, by a son on his mother, reportedly so severe that a veteran police captain cannot control the situation without shooting his son, and the son only gets one year in jail. Other street kids go to prison for many years without a violent assault.
Captain Grigsby had also previously filed a 5 Million Dollar claim against the Oceanside Police Department, and the City, with allegations of long term racial discrimination, just like Officer Damon Smith. Grigsby was reportedly paid $23,500.00 to settle the claim against the City Of Oceanside.

Officer Garcia later told the North County Times that he was fired because he refused to destroy audio tape evidence in the Sgt. David Larson drunk driving cover up.
